Elias Barbosa
Owner, CEO & Managing Director
Elias Barbosa has been involved in the construction and real estate sectors for more than 25 years, where he started at just 17 years old, and has led the planning, development and construction of major hotel brands such as Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Iberostar, Majestic Resorts, Palace Resorts, Excellence Resorts, among others, in locations such as Mexico and Jamaica.
His broad perspective and versatility give him an exceptional entrepreneurial vision, which has resulted in the creation of unique real estate projects such as Campus Residencias Merida, providing university students with everything they would need while completing their studies, which has been thoroughly recognized in the southeastern part of Mexico.
After working in construction for a few decades, Elias set out to open a luxury hospitality boutique collection to fill a void in the market. He founded TROBBU, a company revolutionizing the hospitality, real estate and tech sectors, providing travelers with an insider advantage to vacation villas and apartments in some of the best global destinations. The company debuted its first property with villas in Riviera Maya in February 2025, will be opening in Los Cabos, Madrid, San Miguel de Allende, Merida Yucatan and Mahahual within the next two years, and will continue expanding throughout Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe in the next five years.
Guests can opt to stay in the villas through the hotel side of the project or can invest and become weekly fractional owners where they can choose to either go on vacation, swap their week with other TROBBU destinations or place it in the rental pool in order to generate income. Elias Barbosa is the current Owner, CEO and Managing Director of TROBBU.
